Services: Human Factors Design

Human Factors Design

Microipsys offers a wide range of human factors engineering services to enhance the usability of devices or software. Throughout the development process, a human factors engineer can contribute to the user interface design based on inputs from representative users. These inputs guide design decisions such as button layouts, display selections, and feature operations to generate an interface that is intuitive and easy to use.

Human Factors Design

Our Human Factors Engineering Design services and capabilities include:

User and task analysis
User characteristics and expectations are identified, along with key tasks to be supported by the device or software. Requirements based on user and task analysis are used to guide design of the user interface.

User interface design
Alternatives for user inputs and system displays can be evaluated to select the options that best meet user needs. Early simulation of the user interface, using computer software or a physical prototype, allows refinement of the user interface before significant product development effort is expended.

Usability testing
Observations of representative users interacting with a simulation or prototype can reveal whether the user interface is intuitive and easy to use or needs to be modified.
